ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating

 

Gracefulness, rhythm, melody, lightness in execution, fluidity and flight are main  associations that figure skating evokes. This year the residents and guests of Belarus will have the unique opportunity to visit a real feast of the figure skating world – the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating will start in the Minsk-Arena, the most prestigious sports ground in the country, in the second half of September.

The competitions will be held from 21 to 23 September, 2017 in the Minsk-Arena multidisciplinary cultural and sports complex, and official training will start on September, 18 and will be held at the speed skating stadium.

Our country has already proven itself as a sporting nation, successfully hosted a number of the ISU sporting events: the International Short Track Competition – Evo Cup (October 2012), the Junior Grand Prix Figure Skating Championships (September 2013), the Junior World Cup Speed ​​Skating Championships (2012, 2014, 2016), the European Speed Skating Championship (2016), the ISU World Cup Short Track (2017).

34 countries are going to participate in the competitions. They will be represented by 121 athletes: 27 boys and 34 girls in single skating, 12 pairs in pair skating, and 18 duets in ice dancing.

In single skating by:

* Anna Poroshina – the champion of Belarus, the winner of the Championships of Belarus, the participant of the World Junior Championships, the 6th place at the European Youth Olympic Festival 2017;

  • * Elizaveta Malinovskaya — the silver prize winner of the Championships of Belarus, the many-time winner of international competitions;
  • * Alexandra Chepeleva — the silver prize winner of the Championships of Belarus, the prize-winner of international junior competitions;
  • * Yakov Zenko - the winner of the Championships of Belarus, the participant of the World Junior Championships, the 5th place at the European Youth Olympic Festival 2017;
  • * Nicolay Kozlov – the silver medalist of the Championships of Belarus.

In ice dancing by:

  • * Emilia Koleganova/Vladislav Polkhovskiy — the winners of the Championships of Belarus, the participants of the World Junior Championships; the 6th place at the 2016 Youth Olympic Games, the 5th and the 6th places at the European Youth Olympic Festival, many-time medalists of ISU international competitions; double silver medalists of the Volvo Open (2016, 2017), silder medalists of the 2017 Mentor Cup, bronze medalists of the Tallinn Trophy;
  • * Karina Sydorenko/Maxim Elenich – the bronze medalists of the Championships of Belarus;
  • * and a new duet – Kseniya Zayats/Roman Balanovich.
