Media release of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating - September, 21-23

Today, on the 23rd of September ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating «Minsk Arena Cup» 2017 has officially ended. Hundreds of young athletes from all over the world came to Minsk to take part in this competition. The event was held from the 21st till the 23rd of September at the Minsk Arena, one of the largest European sports venues.

Among ladies the best re Alexandra Trusova. Nana Araki from Japan took the 2nd place. One more figure-skater from Russia Stanislava Konstantinova was the 3rd.

As for men, the leader was Alexey Erokhov from Russia. The 2nd place went to the USA contestant Andrew Torgashev, whilst another skater from Russia Igor Efimchuk took the 3rd place.

In Junior Pair Skating all three first positions were taken by Russia: Daria Pavluchenko / Denis Khodykin were the 1st, Anastasia Poluianova / Dmitry Sopot took the 2nd place, Apollinariia Panfilova / Dmitry Rylov were on the 3rd place.

In the Ice dance the USA duet Christina Carreira / Anthony Ponomarenko were absolute leaders. A pair from Russia Anastasia Skoptcova / Kirill Aleshin took the 2nd place. One more duet from Russia Arina Ushakova / Maxim Nekrasov took the 3rd position.

The results of the three-day-competition were really spectacular. The representatives of Russia in the overall standings took the majority of medals (9 out of 12): 3 gold medals, 2 silver medals, 4 bronze ones. The USA got into the top list with a gold medal and a silver one. One silver medal belonged to the Japanese contestants, which made them the 3rd.

Our country was represented by 9 talented figure-skaters:  Emiliya Kalehanova / Uladzislau Palkhouski and Karina Sidarenka / Maksim Yalenich – Junior Ice Dance, Aliaksandra Chepeleva, Lizaveta Malinouskaya, Hanna Poroshina – Junior Ladies, Yakau Zenko and Mikalai Kazlou – Junior Men.
